Welcome back it's Term 2 and we're ready to roll again!

Things to note about our learning!

Our Inquiry topic is 'Simple Machines'. We will be learning about simple, compound and complex machines and then hopefully use some of our skills to design, invent and create our very own machine to display at our Invention Convention coming up this term! We can't wait to show off our designs and write about them :)

To help us with our inventions we will be learning a number of 3D art techniques. Alongside this we will be learning how to make a poi. So please bring in the following materials to create your poi. You will need: 

• a plastic bag, 
• wool or thick string (preferably two different colours), 
• a rubber band, 
• a piece of fabric or old stockings (mum's ones will do)
• and some newspaper

We have just sat our IKAN knowledge test. Well done to those students who achieved their goal and were better than before. Current National Standards expect all Year 4 students to reach stage 5 and Year 5 students to reach stage 6 by the end of this year. So keep working on those next steps discussed during our three way conferences!

A reminder to keep updating your reading log every day and complete your Mathletics and/or Sumdog activities also don't forget to mark your spelling words in your notebook and earn your 100 points each fortnight for homework!

You can do it! This year we will achieve our goals!
